GOD GIVES AND TAKES AWAY
TO “THE BARONGOS” A SON IS BORN

Our beloved son Barongo Leonard (left) passed away on 5th August 2008 aged ten (10) years before completing Primary 4. It was a short illness but before he breathed his last, he picked a cross which we had bought from Bukalango; he murmured “mummy, daddy pray for me”. We pitifully started; Hail Mary... he passed on as we prayed.

At the grave site, I stood motionless and watched on as the rollers lowered the coffin and I wept! I could not believe the cheerful child we had only a few days back was not breathing, his eyes closed. I hesitantly believed that at a tender age GOD had recalled him.  I looked around; I noticed that none could change the plan of GOD. It is a year since he departed from us we believe he is with GOD in the everlasting happiness.

Judith and I had waited for another child for the last 10 years. It is during the long painful delay that we lost even the only one we had. We prayed and cried. I have never cried to Jesus like this before.

In faith we searched, we went to Bukalango and met Fr. Expedito Magembe November 22nd 2008. He prayed for us and assigned us to say the Rosary consistently for 10 days surrendering our request to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ. “You have got a child already” he consoled our hearts!
January 2009 Judith checked with a Doctor and she was informed that she was pregnant. I doubted the news.

August 4th 2009, Judith went expecting to Nsambya hospital. The news of the baby boy was broken to me by telephone at 10:00pm. I marveled at the miracle because the next day 5th August would be the first anniversary of the death of Leonard. Preparations for the memorial service were on and relatives had gathered. I reckoned we were not going to commemorate the death of Leonard in vain. I broke the news of the born child to relatives who packed our house; they went wild with joy! We instantly decided that the child will be baptized ANTHONY of Padua, the Saint who intercedes for us whenever we are looking for lost precious items.

Anthony was baptized at Bukalango on Sunday 22nd November 2009; exactly one year after Father Magembe told us that GOD had granted our request. GOD IS NEVER LATE AND NEVER FAILS
